Job Summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Ochsner Children’s Hospital, located on Jeff Highway in New Orleans, Orleans Parish. This role offers a competitive annual salary of $136,370.75 and requires proven PICU experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and operate advanced life‑support equipment.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Educate families about treatment plans, procedures, and post‑discharge care.
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives, code response, and emergency drills.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and national nursing standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid RN license in the state of Louisiana.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent PICU nursing experience with pediatric patients.
• BSN preferred; Associate degree in Nursing acceptable with relevant experience.
• Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
• Strong critical‑thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
