About the Role

As a Remote Electrical Designer, you will transform project scopes into precise, code-compliant drawings and specification packages that guide contractors from trench to termination. You’ll partner with project managers, civil teams, and client stakeholders to balance constructability, energy efficiency, and budget. From single-line diagrams to lighting control sequences, your work will clarify intent, reduce risk, and accelerate approvals in fast-moving environments.

What You’ll Do

• Produce accurate AutoCAD and Revit electrical plans, including power distribution, lighting layouts, and panel schedules.
• Develop load calculations, voltage drop analyses, and selective coordination studies for reliable performance.
• Draft one-line diagrams, grounding plans, and arc flash documentation aligned with NEC and local amendments.
• Coordinate with mechanical and structural disciplines to resolve clashes and streamline ceiling zones.
• Support permit sets and respond to field RFIs with clarity and speed.
• Document design decisions and maintain revision control so teams always work from the latest truth.

Requirements

Core Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of electrical design experience in AEC, MEP, or utility-adjacent environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Revit; familiarity with BIM 360 workflows is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and energy code fundamentals.
• Experience designing for commercial, mixed-use, or light-industrial facilities.
• Excellent written communication and remote collaboration skills across time zones.
• Portfolio or work samples demonstrating plan quality, attention to detail, and problem-solving.

Nice to Have

• Lighting design and controls experience using Dialux or AGi32.
• Generator and UPS sizing, switchgear basics, and utility interconnection exposure.
• LEED or energy modeling familiarity to support low-carbon strategies.
• ETAP or SKM PowerTools for short-circuit and coordination studies.

Salary Range

$70,000 – $95,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience and scope of responsibility. Full-time, salaried position with performance-based review cycles.
